Class Information

After people started expressing more and more interests in learning how to sew and pattern draft; I have created some classes and torturing options available. Below is all of the information on classes that we offer. Please read everything through and then if you are interested in signing up, please fill out the forum that is linked down below. We can not guarantee that spots will be open but we can put you on a wait list. All classes once accepted have a deposit of $75 that must be paid via PayPal.

Sewing Class LVL 1

 

This sewing class is designed for beginners with little to no sewing back ground. If you are wanting to learn things like custom pattern drafting, altering patterns or difficult sewing projects, this is not the class. for you There will be no grades or certificate in this class, just knowledge that will allow you to walk away with the basic understanding of sewing.

There will be a total of 8 classes in the course and classes will have a run time of 3 hours. Each class will have a set outline for the day so if one class is missed then you miss out on that days lesson. Over the course of the classes you will be given hand outs and asked to sew samples. None of them will be marked but it is for your benefit to do them so you can build a reference binder for you to refer to later on. There will be a few small sewing projects, before moving onto a commercial pattern. For the final sewing project you will get to pick a simple outfit that I will custom draft the pattern for you. This outfit will be picked on the first day to allow me time to draft the pattern for you. This will be something you keep as well as everything else you have sewn and made in the class. A custom drafted pattern by me normally goes for $30-$40  but is included in the course cost. This gives you a chance to learn how to make something simple and original.

 

Course Cost Outline

Total cost for the course is $300. What this includes; is the class fee, a small sewing kit to help you get started, fabric samples for your seam and sewing samples,  a basic measurement chart, and a custom drafted pattern.

Supplies not Included

You are to have your own sewing machine, fabric scissors, and binder with clear sheet protectors. Fabric for samples will be provided but for full projects students will be required to purchase their own fabric, small notions and a Pattern for sewing project 1. 

Sewing Class LVL 2

 

This sewing class is designed for people who have basic sewing skills and a previous sewing back ground. If you are wanting to learn things like custom pattern drafting, altering patterns or difficult sewing projects, this is not the class for you There will be no grades or certificate in this class, just knowledge that will allow you to walk away with the basic understanding of sewing.

There will be a total of 8 classes in the course and classes will have a run time of 3 hours. There will be a 3 sewing projects for this class so it is important to stay on track or you will fall behind. For a the final project you will pick a jacket that will be custom drafted for you. This outfit will be picked on the first day to allow me time to draft the pattern for you. This will be something you keep as well as everything else you have sewn and made in the class. A custom drafted pattern by me normally goes for $30-$40  but is included in the course cost. This gives you a chance to learn how to make something simple and original.

Pattern Drafting LVL 1

 

This pattern drafting class is designed for beginners with little sewing back ground who are looking to create their own patterns to sew. This is a very basic class of pattern drafting, and will go over the basics and create a base for you. There will be no grades or certificate in this class, just knowledge that will allow you to walk away with the basic understanding of pattern drafting.

There will be a total of 8 classes in the course and classes will have a run time of 3 hours. Each class will have a set outline for the day so if one class is missed then you miss out on that days lesson. Over the course of the classes you will be given hand outs and asked to to do half samples. None of them will be marked but it is for your benefit to do them so you can build a reference binder for you to refer to later on. The class will start with drafting half patterns, before moving onto full size patterns.
